Rust and corrosion protection

Rust and Corrosion inhibitors are a key component in formulating any lubricant. Metal surface inhibitors act to protect the metallic substrates by forming a protective film or passivate the surface. Our portfolio of NA-SUL® and K-CORR® rust and corrosion inhibitors provide value added protection in addition to an even wider selection of secondary performance benefits such as demulsibility, hydrolytic stability, filterability, reserve alkalinity and more.

Thermo-oxidative stability

NA-LUBE® KR products are alkylated naphthalenes classified as API Group V base stocks with outstanding thermo-oxidative stability and seal swell compatibility. NA-LUBE KR base stocks are excellent as modifiers for non-polar Group II, III and IV (PAO) base oils and are available in several viscosity grades. They can act as a compatibilizer with other lubricant additives without competing for the lubricated metal surfaces.

Antiwear

Antiwear additives provide a surface-active barrier film to protect contacting lubricated metallic surfaces from causing abrasive wear. The NA-LUBE® AW series consists of light-colored, 100% active antiwear additives based on various phosphorous, nitrogen and sulfur chemistries. NA-LUBE AW chemistries are multifunctional in terms of providing excellent antiwear properties in combination with other desirable lubricant system properties such as rust inhibition and yellow metal deactivation in addition to extreme pressure synergisms.

Extreme pressure protection

Extreme Pressure additives react at surface sites under high load and high temperature to inhibit weld and wear that can lead to catastrophic failure. NA-LUBE® EP sulfurized additives are available with varying active and sulfur content in order to optimize activation to protect industrial equipment surfaces under high loads. NA-LUBE EP sulfurized additives have exceptional synergy with NA-LUBE AW nitrogen, phosphorus, and sulfur containing antiwear agents to provide a full spectrum of protection under varying loads and temperatures.

Antioxidants

Antioxidants increase lubricant and grease life by decelerating aging caused by oxidation. The NA-LUBE® AO series consists of a range of primary antioxidants that are available in aminic and phenolic chemistries. In addition, both NA-LUBE AW-6300 series and NA-LUBE ADTC provide exceptional secondary antioxidation protection as peroxide decomposers.
